Little Patchwork Granny Squares

Hi all! I've been busy with my sweet little grand daughter, baby Emma! So I have some pictures of her wearing some of my crochet and pictures of what I've been working on when I have time to crochet between snuggles with Emma! :)

Here she is in the cocoon & hat I made her!

And this is what I've been working on...

... aren't they sweet?
They are a basic granny with 3 rounds.  I used a G Hook and leftover yarn from my Stylecraft DK from Deramore's. I had a lot left over from making my Ripple.  I'm not sure how I will join them yet. Maybe a neutral color for the border and in between the squares?  What do you think?

I am a long way from being done with the squares so this will be a large blanket!

I hope you all are doing well and I've missed visiting your blogs. Work has also been crazy and will be until the end of October. Traveling some and that makes it hard to keep up with all your blogs!

Happy Crocheting!

  1. Ohhhhh how sweet. There is nothing like a Baby in the house. Wonderful pictures!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me such a nice comment. I guess we are working on the same project and yes it is so much fun. Been switching around on the colors so I won't get bored. About those little strings, hmmmm, they are my least favorite part while crocheting, but they have to be dealt with eventually. But for now, I just keep on making my little squares.

For now have a wonderful day and enjoy that grandbaby!

  2. Awwww! Eileen....she is just soooo beautiful! all the photos are wonderful. I understand why all your time is with her! Shari xoxo

  3. Miss Emma is a doll! :) Love all your crocheted items. I thought I recognized that yarn. I have some of it, too. :) Enjoy your day!

  4. She's beautiful! And she looks adorable in what her Grandma made for her with love! Such a joyful time in life! Enjoy and don't worry about us, we'll be here when life slows down for you a bit. Hugs, Annette

  5. Congrats to you and your children for having this cute baby! She is sooo sweet. Your crocheted items are really lovely.
I would join the sqares with a contrast colour, maybe white, nature or grey ...
Have a great week! Greetings from Germany. Sabine.

  6. oh she's so pretty and so precious! congratulations eileen

  7. I would not even take two seconds to look at blogs if I had that sweet baby around. She is adorable and your crochet items look perfect for her. Don't worry about us, we will be here when you are ready.

  8. *C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S*!* on that adorable baby girl!! She is soOOOooo cute! Love the one photo with her eyes wide open. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. Congrats Eileen! I can't blame you for spending most of your time with that sweet gift from God. :0).
As for your cute little granny square blanket trim; have you thought dark brown??? with all that bright colors going on something dark can make them pop. If you aren't sure which color test them out with a couple of squares...thats what i would do. Either way you chose, I'm sure it'll look beautiful!

  10. A beautiful little granddaughter Eileen, congrats to you and her parents... :)) A truely special time.:))

  11. Oh my gosh Eileen - little Emma is beautiful. Love the crochet you've done for her. How about a medium to dark blue for the border of the squares - I think that would look nice. :)

  12. Congratulations! She is beautiful and I love her name!
